Nurse Work in Japan Now Open to Philippines

In recent news, Japan has already opened its doors to Filipino nurses and caregivers for training and employment. This is what the memorandum states as signed by the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement.
The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) and the Japan International Corporation of Welfare Services (JICWELS) has agreed to accept Filipino nurses as candidate-kangoshi and caregivers as candidate-kaigofukushishi to Japan.
However, Filipinos are complaining that the requirements to work abroad as a nurse in Japan are very difficult to pass. Aside from an extensive work experience and the need to undergo several interviews and aptitude tests, they should also be able to pass a medical examination to successfully qualify entry to Japan.
Currently, the hiring program are recruiting 200 Filipino nurses and 300 caregivers. Once accepted, they will undergo a six-month language and culture training in Japan with an allowance of not less than 40,000 yen per month.
